Body Wise
Body Wise International has been operating since 1989 in Tustin,
California. The company's chairman is Tom Tierney. Tom Tierney is also
the president of another company called VitaTech.
One of Body Wise main products is a nutritional supplement called Super
G.
They also have some plans like the one called the Body Wise(R) Reshape
plan.
The guys at Body Wise mostly sell supplements, health drinks, etc.
I also see several of their distributors pushing Body Wise products as
a means of weight loss.
I did a search on google for Body Wise and I found out that apparently
when BodyWise was asked about why they don't do double blind trials,
they were a bit evasive. According to my sources the folks at BodyWise
said that their product is not a drug so that double blind trials were
not appropriate and much too expensive. This seems like a cop-out and
makes me a little skeptical.
In my opinion, if the product is safe enough to consume, there should
be no problem with a double blind trial. It should be easy to make the
capsules or caplets with either the product or some inert facsimile.
Certainly the great cost of animal experiments to prove safety is not
required. Run a hundred subjects for a month and ask them to grade
themselves on how health has improved.
Body Wise now seems to be focused on weight managemnet.
