Did
you know that the Java Jo'z Headquarters apparently shares the same
physical address with an "unrelated" company that also uses
the same logo?
Well
this fact has led many to believe that Java Jo'z has changed their
name. After all, anyone who possesses basic common sense and
exercises just a little bit of due diligence might come to the same
conclusion, especially when the "name" appears to be just
about the only thing different between the two.
But
in all fairness, let's go ahead and examine the actual facts, based on
the documented evidence.
Please
let the record show that we are going to present you
with the verifiable information surrounding Java Jo'z first,
based upon documented evidence from other sources which we'll provide
with links. You'll find our review of Java Jo'z below, after
we present this verifiable, documented evidence as follows:
#1: According to directory
assistance, the current address for the Java Jo'z
headquarters is shown below, under the following two
listings:

#2: BEN DOYLE. Who is Ben Doyle
and how could he possibly, in any way connect Java Jo'z to this other
company that "isn't" or "never was" Java Jo'z? That's an
easy one. First of all, take a look at this person's complaint on the Ripoff
Report regarding Ben Doyle and Roy Snowden (link). Secondly, Ben
Doyle is Roy Snowden's friend and business partner (link), which we already knew, but we thought we'd
provide that link anyway. Ben Doyle holds the title
of Senior Vice President of Real Estate (link) at Java Jo'z. Coincidentally, Ben
Doyle also holds that title at the "other" company that
uses the same address of Java Jo'z listed above. The pictures on
this "other" company's website even show the actual office building and
the same entrance to Suite 16 on 348 Miracle Strip Parkway in Fort
Walton Beach...and Alas!...there is even a picture of Ben Doyle on the
website, standing in the center of the photo with a group of female
employees around him. What's even more incredible, is that
much of the staff members also appear to be the same ones as those
at Java Jo'z. Well not that incredible, since it's the
same building, also dealing with drive-thru coffee kiosks and
using the same Cafe D'arte coffee products Java Jo'z prides
itself on dealing with.
Is it at all conceivable how one might possibly
come to the conclusion that Java Jo'z just simply changed their
name?
#3: A simple search of
the physical address of Java Jo'z (click
here to pull it up directly) shows the name a different coffee company which
deals in the same kiosks and coffee products, and even employs many of
the same people as Java Jo'z, but they claim they're not Java Jo'z,
which is pretty difficult for us to believe, considering Ben
Doyle works there, holding the same title in the same
building suite that used to be called Java Jo'z.
#4: As of 1-8-2007, it was
discovered that the once prominently displayed address at the bottom of
the Java Jo'z website was removed, along with the other contact
information.
#5: Roy Snowden's old Emerald
Coast Manufacturing website now redirects to a different
manufacturing company, which also happens to belong to the same outfit
that owns the "other" company that shares the same physical
address and logo with Java Jo'z. Wow!!...it only took them
one day after we posted that for the Emerald Coast Manufacturing
website to no longer redirect to the other company, which is why we
crossed it off the list.
#6: The javajoz.com domain name and
the "other" company's website are registered to the same entity.
This is a matter of public record, verifiable at the whois database.
Based on this documented evidence, (and we'll elaborate
further) it's very understanable how and
why someone could potentially come to the conclusion
that it's the same company with a different name.
In another example, according to the North County Times
website, located
at this link, it specifically
addresses how Java Jo'z planed to change their name to the "other"
company.
The bottom line
here is that when people see this kind of obvious discrepancy,
questions are going to be raised, and for good reason.
With that said, it is our right to state our opinion
based on this evidence mentioned above that exists in the public
domain.
In our opinion, based on the documented evidence, it
appears that Java Jo'z has made a very feeble attempt to
inconspicuously change their name, given that the physical address and
logo appear to be the same as the "other" company.
However, that isn't to say we're correct. We're
just stating our opinion which is based solely on the
documented evidence presented to us both on and off the links
posted.
When we say "evidence" we refer to evidence that may
lead others to believe that Java Jo'z changed it's name,
because of the physical address being the same, as well as the
links to other documents that imply as much.
Whatever the case may be, given the track record and criminal
charges against Roy Snowden of Java Jo'z of 348 Miracle Strip
Parkway in Fort Walton Beach, FL, it would be irresponsible and unfair
to consumers for us not to bring these documented findings to light.
Let it be clear that this site refers to Java
Jo'z and Roy Snowden. We're not saying that the company
changed their name, but other sources do, in fact, imply that.
It will be obvious to any semi-intelligent individual as to what the
facts are. Do some searches on Google and it will be clear to you as
well. As far as this review goes, take the information for what
it's worth and do with it what you will. Again, what you do
with the documented evidence presented above is up to you.
Now, on to the Java Jo'z Review:
Java Jo'z, is a specialty drive-thru coffee business run
by Roy Snowden, who also uses the name Emerald Coast Manufacturing.
We now
have confirmation that Roy Snowden has pled guilty to 5 counts of
Evasion of Payment of Income Taxes and one count of Conspiracy to
Defraud the IRS. In March of 2007, he was sentenced to serve 4 years in
Federal prison to be followed by three years
of supervised release.
As if this
wasn't enough, these disturbing facts weren't all we uncovered.
Additionally, there
have been complaints filed with the Federal Trade Commission
since Emerald Coast Manufacturing/Java Jo'z began marketing this
opportunity under Roy Snowden.
While Mr. Snowden is in charge of this operation, he uses his
wife's name "Kimberly" as the president of the company. At one point,
Snowden registered several domain names that belonged to a competitor,
Mountain Mudd, in an what appeared to be an attempt to hijack business
from them. However, an arbitrator ruled that Snowden had to
relinquish the rights back to Mountain Mudd. On the surface, this
appeared to be very underhanded, since it was known that Mountain
Mudd's rights belonged to someone else.
Also, through blogs and other internet forums, we found
numerous complaints from franchisees who weren't able to secure a
location, nor were they able to get their money back from their
deposit. Based on the official complaints that were filed in
addition to our findings online, this didn't come as a surprise.
Based on the documented facts alone, I strongly believe Java Jo'z
is going to be very hard pressed to compete with
the multi-billion dollar Starbucks conglomerate.
In my
opinion, you're better off spending $30,000 (the amount of deposit
toward securing a franchise) on lottery tickets than giving it to
Roy Snowden and his Java Jo'z specialty coffee drive-through company.
After all, the guy is a crook serving time in Federal prison. That's a fact!
Roy Snowden's conviction
of tax fraud, coupled with the other facts are reason enough for
anyone to run in the other direction. That not only goes for Roy
Snowden, but for any similar company involving people that
Snowden was involved with at Java Jo'z, especially Ben Doyle.
Don't become a victim. We recommend staying away from ALL
specialty-coffee businesses in Northwest Florida that involve
people that used to work for Roy Snowden at the same physical address.
There are just too many people that have been ripped-off.
